Having Trouble Managing Your Time? Use These Tips!

manage_your_time_or_it_will_manage_you

Have you ever thought that there just aren’t enough hours in a day? Are you someone who feels there isn’t enough time to accomplish tasks each day? If so, you must learn about managing your time and how it can help. Using the tips below, you can use time better.

When scheduling your day, be sure to add in any interruptions. Things happen. If you don’t allocate time for little things that crop up during the day, you will get off schedule very quickly. It’s easier to stay on track when interruptions are planned.

Every task you have to do needs to be sorted by importance. Sometimes, unimportant things take up your day. Make sure you do the most important things first. Create a to-do list that is sorted by priority.

Every morning, work out a schedule for the day. Just write down all of the things you would like to accomplish. A day-by-day schedule is very important when planning your time.

Refrain from communicating with friends unless it is urgent. Every time you are interrupted, it gets harder to refocus on the subject at hand. Just let things go to voicemail, and return calls or take care of texts once you have a free moment.

You won’t be able to do everything. Some days it’s impossible. Most of the things you spend your time on accomplish nothing. Do what you can, but don’t overwhelm yourself.

Do hard tasks early in the day. These should be completed early in your day. This will relieve you of pressure so that you can fly through the menial tasks. If you finish your stressful tasks early, this makes the rest of your day easy.

Take a class on time management at a local college. These can provide useful information on how to better deal with time. You might even find that your company offers such a class. If you don’t have an employer that does this, you can take these classes at local universities and colleges.

List your daily tasks in order of importance. This is an effective method to organize your time. Consider the tasks that are most important and must be completed today. Put those items near the top of the list. You can make your way to the less important items.

By determining how much effort you will need to put into a task, you can plan your time more wisely. Do not waste time performing non essential tasks. Devote just enough time and energy in getting the job done so you can move on to the next thing. Put in the most effort for important tasks, and improve your time management.

Organize your space if you seem to never have the time. Five minutes searching for something three times daily means two wasted hours a week! If any items are used a lot, be sure they’re easy to get. This will save both time and frustration.

Rewards should not come first. Rewards should only come about after you’ve completed your goals. Make sure this is done after you finish though, so it does not interrupt your task. When you have a good handle on managing your time, give yourself a reward.

Divide your task list into four separate quadrants. Label the columns as not important and important. Also sort them based on “not urgent” or “urgent”. Don’t spend any more than 10% of your time during the day in the not important/urgent quadrant. Focus on the important, beginning with the urgent but, making room for the non-urgent. Be sure to make time for the tasks that are important but not urgent to make sure they don’t become urgent.

The helpful information shared here can help you better manage your time. Time is something that we need to work on saving because it’s a shame to waste. When you use time more efficiently, you have a lot more space to do the things that are most important to you.

Banana Holder

Tired of unsightly bruises on your banana? Good thing someone invented the Bananaguard, which will protect your fruit from getting bumped and bruised in your lunch bag or briefcase.  “Specifically designed to fit the vast majority of bananas,” according to the product website, so apparently those with unusually small or large bananas are out of luck

If you don’t want to risk the rest of your lunch being squished, there’s always the Candwich. This, yes, sandwich-in-a-can does not require refrigeration, offers convenient and protective packaging, and comes in three flavors — two varieties of PB&J, and BBQ chicken. Yum!
